When Should My Child (or I) See the Orthodontist? Any time the general dentist suggests an exam for yourself or your child please call for an appointment. Also, if your child is over 7 and you notice overbite, under bite, crowding, protruding (buck) teeth, or even suspect a problem call for an exam. Exam appointments are complimentary and Dr. Burke will be happy to inform you of treatment options and recommendations.
What is the Usual Time to Start Braces? In "average" orthodontic cases, braces will be placed around age 12, when all of the permanent teeth have erupted. In more complex cases, early intervention can be helpful to re- duce the chance of removing teeth and can even help avoid jaw surgery in some cases! If you have any concerns about the type of problem you or your child may have, call for an appointment!
Will My Insurance Cover Braces? Dr. Burke accepts most all dental insurance plans and his staff will be happy to help re- search benefits for you. The initial consultation is complimentary and, at that time, you will be provided with 1) treatment recommendations, if any; 2) A written fee schedule; and 3) A review of insurance contributions to your treatment fee. Dr. Burke's front office staff will work with you to make orthodontic treatment as affordable as possible! |
